For many, the dream of getting paid to lounge on a Florida beach and watch the sun dip into the Gulf is just that—a dream. But Visit St. Pete-Clearwater, the tourism board for the Tampa Bay area’s coastal gems, is turning that fantasy into a real job. They’re recruiting three temporary “executives” to spend ten days exploring the region’s beaches, food scene, and culture—and they’ll each pocket $10,000 for the gig.
Dubbed the SPC-Suite campaign, the initiative is looking for a chief vibes officer, a chief flavor officer, and a chief sunset curator. Each role comes with a specific mission: the flavor officer will eat their way through top restaurants and seafood spots; the vibes officer will dive into the nightlife, from live music venues to LGBTQ+ friendly bars and hidden rooftops; and the sunset curator will chase golden hours while exploring cultural landmarks like The Dalí Museum and the county’s vibrant mural festival.
“We want to show the world that behind our famous white sands and 361 days of sunshine, there’s a rich culinary, artistic, and nightlife scene worth documenting,” said Brian Lowack, executive director of Visit St. Pete-Clearwater. The selected travelers will have all expenses covered—round-trip flights, luxury lodging, and VIP experiences—and will be expected to share their journey in real time across social media.
What the gig entails
This isn’t just a free vacation. The chosen candidates will be working, albeit in the most enviable way possible. They’ll be tasked with creating engaging content that highlights the destination’s unique offerings, from fresh-off-the-boat seafood to art galleries and sunset viewpoints. The goal is to attract future visitors by showing the authentic, lived-in experience of St. Pete-Clearwater.
For the chief flavor officer, that means a nonstop gastronomic tour—think bistros, dockside eateries, and local culinary gems. The chief vibes officer will explore the area’s energetic nightlife, including live music lounges and secret rooftop bars. And the chief sunset curator will find inspiration in the region’s art scene, from the surrealist masterpieces at The Dalí Museum to the colorful murals that adorn streets across the county.
Each participant will document their experiences, providing a behind-the-scenes look at what makes this corner of Florida special. It’s a chance to turn digital creativity into a paid adventure—and to share it with audiences worldwide.
Who can apply
Applicants must be at least 21 years old and submit an online application along with a video interview. The selection committee will evaluate entries based on authenticity, creativity, narrative originality, and social media engagement. So if you’ve got a knack for storytelling and a love for the beach, this could be your golden ticket.
The deadline to apply is October 22 at 11:59 p.m. The travel mission will take place between November 6 and November 22, 2026, coinciding with the area’s annual art festival—a perfect backdrop for the sunset curator.
This opportunity comes as Florida continues to draw attention for both its natural beauty and its quirks. From rattlesnake sightings on beaches to the state’s $3 billion in unclaimed money, there’s always something unexpected. But for now, the spotlight is on St. Pete-Clearwater’s sun-soaked shores.
For content creators, foodies, beach lovers, and sunset chasers, this is more than a job—it’s a paid immersion into a coastal lifestyle that many only dream of. And with the application window open, the only question is: who’s ready to answer the call?
