The full schedule for the 2026 FIFA World Cup has finally arrived, and for Latino fans across the Americas, this tournament feels especially close to home. With matches spread across 16 host cities in the United States, Mexico, and Canada, the 2026 edition is the first to feature 48 teams and 104 matches — a scale never seen before in the sport's history.

The action begins on June 11 at the legendary Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, where Mexico will face South Africa in Group A. That same day, South Korea takes on the Czech Republic in Zapopan. The final is set for July 19 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

What This Means for Latino Fans

For the millions of Latinos living in the United States, this World Cup offers a rare chance to see their home countries compete on North American soil without crossing an ocean. Argentina, the defending champions led by Lionel Messi, will play in Kansas City and Arlington. Brazil, always a crowd favorite, has matches in East Rutherford and Miami Gardens. Colombia, Uruguay, and other Latin American teams will also feature in cities with large Latino communities.

Mexico, making history by hosting its third opening match, will play all its group games in Mexico: at Estadio Azteca, Estadio Akron in Guadalajara, and Estadio BBVA in Guadalupe. That means Mexican fans can follow their team without leaving the country.

The United States men's national team, coached by Argentine Mauricio Pochettino, debuts on June 12 against Paraguay at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. That Group D matchup is one of the most anticipated of the group stage, especially for the large Paraguayan community in the US.

Group Stage Highlights

Group C brings Brazil to the East Coast, with matches at MetLife Stadium, Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, and Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens. Argentina headlines Group J, with games in Kansas City and Arlington. European powers like Spain, France, and England will also visit US cities, ensuring a diverse mix of styles and fan bases.

One notable challenge for some teams is the travel distance between venues. For example, teams playing in Vancouver and then in Miami will cross the continent, testing player endurance. But for fans, this geographic spread means more opportunities to attend matches close to home.
